Building on our earlier Nostalgia Design Jam, in this first official event as the Cape Town Design Nerds we invited participants to take a few hours out of the normal rush to pause and reflect on their pasts. Using this Nostalgia Jam as a space to think, connect with other participants, and have open, caring, and honest conversations together, we provided participants with an opportunity to look back on their pasts in order to better understand their presents and consider the futures that they would like to experience. We encouraged participants to carry this reflective mode with them beyond the event and to take note of the things that triggered their nostalgia in the coming days, to acknowledge them, and to reflect on them.
