International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL) 2022 Conference Presentation
To position our work within global conversations around teaching and learning, we presented a paper at the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Conference (ISSOTL) hosted in Kelowna, BC, Canada at the end of 2022.
We presented a case study of our March 2022 Global Classroom event, the Climate Change Design Jam. The contributions our paper highlighted concerning decolonial and critical pedagogy were lauded by a range of international scholars and practitioners. Furthermore, this conference allowed the GCDI to develop a range of connections with partners in South America, France, the United States of America, and Germany, which will possibly be integrated into future iterations of the GCDI.
Perhaps most importantly, some members of the GCDI team were able to meet in person for the very first time at this conference! Having worked together since 2020, this was an important milestone and opportunity for the team to connect and make future plans.
